combat flaps

combat flaps
Leading-edge and/or trailing edge flaps used for maneuvering aircraft in combat. Such flaps are capable of being lowered at higher speeds. These flaps reduce the angle of attack for a given lift coefficient and flatten the spanwise-load distribution to postpone flow separation on the outer wing, resulting in significant delay in the buffet onset.
Leading and trailing edges combat flaps.
